Frank J. Pavone, Jr.

GLENMONT- Frank J. Pavone, Jr. 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024 following a long illness.

A devoted family man, he is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ellen Johnson Pavone; children Judith M (Matthew McCormack) Pavone and Joseph F Pavone; brother Richard (Patricia) Pavone, and many nieces and nephews.

Born and educated in Albany, he was the son of the late Frank and Evelyn Hanley Pavone.

Frank was employed with the Watervliet Arsenal and retired after many years of service.

A passionate sports fan, Frank’s loyalty ran deep for New York sports. He was an avid supporter of the Yankees, Giants, and Rangers and could often be heard cheering loudly, watching games from the basement, sharing in the thrill of victories and the agony of defeats. His enthusiasm for sports was matched only by his love for music, especially for the 1950s and the Doo-Wop era.

Frank was a principled man who believed in hard work, perseverance, honesty, and treating others how you would want to be treated. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family and was quick to help others when needed.

Frank will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family on Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 2-5pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, located at 490 Delaware Ave. in Albany.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, November 4, 2024 at 10 am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church 35 Adams Pl. in Delmar. Interment will follow the Mass at Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery in Glenmont.
