SLINGERLANDS- Theresa “Dolores” Frangella, 84, died Tuesday, April 09, 2013 after an extended illness. She was in Hospice care at Albany Memorial Hospital. Dolores was born in Albany, the daughter of James J. and Daisy Ryan,

Mom is survived by her six children; Nicholas J. Frangella (Linda), Frances A. Schlabach (Jim), Faith M. Fierro, Michael J. Frangella (Cathy), Felice A. Gokey (Marshall) and Alexia M. Briwa (Charles). She was blessed with five grandchildren, Lisa and Jennifer Frangella, Joseph Fierro, Zachary Frangella and Ryan Miller. She is also survived by a niece, nephew and several cousins. She was married to the late Joseph C. Frangella.

Mom was a 1946 graduate of the Academy of the Holy Names and a 1950 graduate of Russell Sage. She was a Communicant of Mater Christi Church in Albany. Her life was centered around her children. Mom was an active participant in every facet of our lives. She was a loving, caring and devoted mother. Mom was more than any child could hope to have. She was a terrific cook and could prepare a feast for twenty or a perfect repast for two, She learned her culinary skills from her grandmother Emilia and her mom Daisy. Mom shared a joie de vie with everyone she met. She held a zeal for living. Mom enjoyed many friendships in her life. Her being part of “The Glitterbugs” with Joan, Mary, Mary, Marsha and Mary Ellen brought mom laughter, joy and happiness. We will all miss her dearly.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the nurses at Memorial Hospital who cared for Mom over the last several weeks.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 15, 2013 at 8:45 am from the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. thence to The Parish of Mater Christi where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Sunday, April 14, 2013 from 3-6 pm. Entombment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made in Mom’s name to The Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St., Albany, NY 12208.
