Flanders, Eugene R.

VALATIE- Eugene R. Flanders formerly of Albany, 87, died Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Barnwell Nursing Home in Valatie.

Born in Schuylerville, NY he was the son of the late Walter and Christine (Lloyd) Flanders. Mr. Flanders worked for GE in Schenectady for 17 years and then for Price Chopper for 10 years before his retirement. He was active in the Louise Corning Delaware Ave. Seniors Center. Mr. Flanders enjoyed dancing, traveling and attending County fairs.

He was the husband of the late Helen (Ward) Flanders and the late Lucy (Henderson) Flanders; father of Anna (Reverend Bruce) Hoose of Bridgeport, GA, and Laura Davis of Albany; step-father of Dean Henderson; brother of Susie Murphy of Schuylerville; also survived by 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Flanders was predeceased by 13 siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 11a.m. in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be in Assumption/St. Paul
