Ferguson, D. Eileen

ALBANY- Doris Eileen Ferguson, 91, passed away peacefully on April 8th 2023 at Albany Med Hospice Care.

Eileen had a passion for animals, travel and art. She was a gifted seamstress, painter and cook. She was devoted to her family and her friends. She loved people and more importantly, she loved life and she celebrated with her loving energy.

Eileen worked in NYS government for over 25 years, a law firm (Dugan and Casey) for 16 years and volunteered her time working at the St. Peters Hospital gift shop for over 15 years.

She was nominated by Governor Mario Cuomo for being an outstanding graduate with the highest honors. She attended Albany law school and graduated from Albany Business College showing dedication and passion in everything she did.

Predeceased by parents Bridie Agnes King Ferguson and William Burley Ferguson; her sisters Helen Nellegar (late Charles Patrick) and Patricia Marie Rosky (late Joseph); her sister-in-law Virginia Origoni and godchild Joanne Altenburg (Carl); she leaves behind family members including nieces Maureen Nellegar, Patricia Marie Rosky (Charles Schertietr Jr.), Donna Burg, Alisha Belluardo and Melissa Conlon; the Origoni family; her dear friend and adopted sister Joan Burger and her beloved sweetie Chesney.

The Ferguson family would like to thank the outstanding team at Albany Medical Center for the love and compassion they gave to Eileen and the family.



Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family on Friday April 21, 2023 at the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St. from 9:30-10:45 am. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Inurnment will follow the Mass in the Mausoleum of Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont.
