TOPSFIELD, MA – Our blessed Mother and Grandmother, Caroline Kampa Feeney, age 87, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 15th in Beverly, Massachusetts after a short illness. She leaves behind three daughters,Cynthia Dowd of Broomfield, CO, Cheryl Rao of Beverly, MA and Mary Rupolo of Rehoboth, MA, as well as one son, Michael Feeney of Danvers, MA. She also leaves behind five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her husband of 52 years, William P. Feeney, of Albany NY.
Born Caroline Kampain 1930 in Westport, NY, she was the youngest of seven children. She resided with her family on a farm in Mineville, NY until she married and moved to Albany. Mrs. Feeney worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant for the New York State Assembly, retiring in 2000. She was a communicant of the former St. Catherine of Siena Church in Albany until moving away in 2013 to be closer to her family in Massachusetts.
In her later years Caroline pursued many interests, most notably travel, gardening, photography, knitting, and taking continuing education courses.She traveled in tour groups with the Diocese of Albany and was a member of the Albany Red Hat Society.
Caroline’s memory will always be cherished by both friends and family. She was a warm, thoughtful and loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She placed family and friends above self, and her spirit has touched all those that had the pleasure of knowing her.
There will be visiting hours on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 4-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 21, 2017 at 8:15 am from the funeral home thence to The Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St. where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 am. Interment will follow the Mass in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
