SLINGERLANDS-Kathleen Mary Fedele, 79, passed away suddenly, yet peacefully, at home on Wednesday, November 2, 2022. She was born on July 16, 1943 in Albany, New York and was the daughter of the late Frank and Dolores Dunham.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, John Rocco Fedele and her cherished daughters, Lisa Clifford and her husband, Timothy of Slingerlands, NY; Lara Pritchard and her husband, Eric of Honeoye Falls, NY; and Sara Fedele of Latham, NY. She is also survived by her dear sisters; Darleen Smith of Voorheesville, NY;, Eileen and her husband Lawrence Morris of Pittsford, NY Colleen Kidder and her husband, Robert of Ipswich, MA; and her brother Daniel Dunham of Albany, NY. She was predeceased by her brother, Frank W. Dunham, Jr. and is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Lou Dunham of Clifton Park, NY.She will be remembered fondly by her sister-in-law, Carmella Domalewicz and her husband, Paul, of Watervliet, NY., along with her many nieces and nephews.

Kathleen’s greatest passion was her family. Her true joy was spending time with her seven grandchildren, Christian and John Clifford, of Slingerlands, NY; Brandon, Payten and Chase Pritchard, of Honeoye Falls; and Deontay and Alia Scott of Latham.

Kathleen began her career in banking at Bankers Trust Company, where she met her husband and lifelong partner, John. She spent the next ten years working in commercial banking and spent six years with the City of Albany in Finance and Economic Development.

Kathleen returned to finish her college education, while raising her family, graduating Magna Cum Laude at The College of Saint Rose, with a degree in History and Political Science. While attending college, she developed an interest in foreign relations and studied abroad, in Russia,and was later recognized with the Outstanding Achievement Award, History and Political Science.

Her passion for lifelong learning continued on, with her decision to pursue a law degree at the Albany Law School of Union University. While attending law school, Kathleen spent more time abroad,attending the University of San Diego School of Law Institute on International and Comparative Law, in Russia and Poland. She was admitted into the New York State Bar in January 1990 and began her career as Assistant Counsel in the New York State of Economic Development, providing legal advice to senior and program staff.

Kathleen will always be remembered for her warm and caring spirit, which she generously gave freely to anyone who needed help or prayers. Her deep faith guided her life and actions, and she shared this example with her children and grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 7, from 4-7p.m., at Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany, NY. Kathleen’s life will be celebrated in a Mass of Christian Burial ,at the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell Street, Albany, NY, on Tuesday, November 8, at 9:30a.m., followed by interment at St. Agnes Cemetery, 48 Cemetery Ave., Menands, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Kathleen’s name to Wildwood Foundation, 1190 Troy Schenectady Rd, Latham NY 12110.
