Fedele, Helen L.

ALBANY- Helen L. (Cross) Fedele, 85, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 26, 2022. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late William and Helen Kallner Cross, Sr. Helen graduated from St. Ann’s Academy and attended the College of St. Rose. She worked for the New York State Dept. of Education and NY Telephone Company prior to her marriage to Joseph Fedele.

Helen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and she enjoyed her daily visits from her niece Sharon and “the barkers” Scamp and Scooby.

In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband Joseph Fedele, Sr., daughter Nicole, her sister Mary (Jack) Pelton and brothers William Cross, Jr. and John Cross. She is survived by her children Nina (Chris) O’Brien, Helen (Mark) Smith, Ann (Fred) Hasselbarth and Joseph (Sarah) Fedele, Jr.; grandchildren Shannen O’Brien (Nate) Discavage, Christopher O’Brien, Rachel Smith, Hannah Smith, Abigail Fedele, Katherine Fedele, Zach (Indira) Hasselbarth; her sister Ann Cross; and several nieces and nephews.

Helen’s family wishes to thank Amy Dixon for her care and compassion.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 from 4-7 pm at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home. Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 9:30 am at The Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St. Interment will follow in the Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duel Road, Schuylerville, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shrine Fund c/o Immaculate Conception/St. Joseph Parish, 732 US Route 20, New Lebanon, NY 12125.
