Evans, Carolyn M.

NEW HARTFORD, NY- Carolyn M. Evans, 83, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the St. Elizabeth Campus of MVHS.

Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Rose (Weiss) Evans. After completing high school, Carolyn continued her education at SUNY at Albany earning both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Business Education and Business Administration. She then enrolled at Ohio State University School of Education where she received a PhD in Adult Education and Higher Education Administration, Manpower and Industrial Relations.

Her career in education began in 1969 as an Associate Professor and expanded into the role as a project developer for the Department of Cooperative Education and Career Placement eventually being appointed as Associate Dean for the Business Division. She wore many hats over the span of her career including special assignments as Coordinator for the MVCC Rome Campus Accounting and Computer Systems and Data Processing Program. Her last role in education was as Professor of Business at MVCC.

Carolyn is survived by her nephew, Robert (Patti) Evans; and a great-niece, Samantha Rose Evans. She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert John (Florence) Evans, Sr.

In keeping with Carolyn’s wishes, funeral services will be private. Interment will be in Nassau Schodack Cemetery.
