Stephen James Erickson (Steve, Bub) passed away on December 19th 2018 against his will after a courageous battle with cancer. Stephen was the best electrician in Albany. He was fond of his friends, family and his beard.
He was born to Harry and Eleanor Erickson (Miller) on June 22, 1963 in South Carolina.Stephen graduated from Albany High School in 1981 with his dear friends John Dober, Tim Newberry, and Shawn Cronin whom he loved as brothers. From there, he entered the United State Air Force where he served with merit.
Upon his discharge from the service Stephen embarked on his career as a licensed electrician in the Albany with the support of the Albany Building Department and his good friends Jeff Douly and Ed Foley.He was also a fine integral of Schuyler Realty who will miss his good spirit and hard work immensely.
Stephen loved all his Siberian Huskies especially Sheba and Brutus.He enjoyed camping, the outdoors, and his 1968 Camaro and going to auctions with his son. He loved Christmas and his family dearly.
Stephen is survived his siblings (the twins) Thomas Erickson of East Greenbush, NY and Helene Erickson of Bethlehem, PA, and first wife Margaret Sorokey of Scotia, NY, all who helped him throughout his illness, his younger brother Howard of Albany, NY who will miss him dearly and his older brother David (Elfie) Erickson of Altamont, who held things together when the Erickson siblings were young as well as his nieces Patricia Erickson, Kayla Erickson, Mara Erickson and Jamie Hunter and two great nephews Roman Hadway and Darren James. Most importantly, he is survived by his beloved son, Stephen H. Erickson (“Little Stephen”) who was the apple of his eye.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 11-2 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. followed by his funeral service at the conclusion of the gathering at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 10:00 am in the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell Street, Albany, NY 12208.
Inurnment will take place in Calvary Cemetery in Glenmont.
