Eleanor R. Clark

MASSACHUSETTS - Eleanor Rita Sano Clark, 106, passed peacefully on Sunday December 29, 2024 at Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home in Stoughton, MA. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Marie Matteo Sano. She was the wife of the late Herbert F. Clark. Eleanor worked alongside her husband in their family business, Clark Disposal Service, Inc. She was a long time communicant of St. Margaret Mary’s Church, now known as All Saints Church. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband and relocated to Gloversville, NY soon after, where she lived for 20 years. She made wonderful friends and enjoyed her life there, including playing Bridge weekly. Eleanor moved to Massachusetts in 2023 as she needed daily assistance and support.

She is the mother of Joanne Clark-Fleitman of Richmond, TX, Eleanor M. Tunny of Albany, NY, Herbert F. Clark, Jr. of Weirsdale, FL, Katherine Clark Vuylsteke of Canton, MA, and Thomas M. Clark of Lexington, KY. Eleanor was predeceased by her sister Gloria A. Lambert and brother Benjamin J. Sano, both of Albany. She is survived by her sister, Rita A. Bennett of Albany. She is the grandmother of Matthew F. Tunny, Eileen Graves, Carolyn Perry, the late Jordon C. Conboy, the late Herbert W. Clark, Marshall P. Felix, Colleen Marchant, Elliot D. Felix, Melissa A. Clark, Lily Clark, and Herbert S. Clark. Eleanor is the great grandmother of Keira and Brian Tunny, Samantha and the late Benjamin Graves, Samuel and WIlliam Marchant, Anna Marie and Paul Perry, Harrison and Nathaniel Felix, and Nora and Theo Felix. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited and may visit at All Saints Church, 16 Homestead St., Albany from 10 to 11am on Wednesday January 8th. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11am. Burial will be at Saratoga National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
