DELMAR - Edward P. Hart, 83, of Slingerlands, NY passed away peacefully at Albany Medical Center on October 13, 2023.
Ed was born in Albany, NY to Edward P. Hart and Mary D. Hart. After graduating from Cardinal McCloskey High School, Ed went on to graduate from Siena College in 1963.
In 1966, Ed met the love of his life, Marymel Dilello at Thacher Park. They married in 1968, and went on to have 3 children.
Ed was a devoted family man, and friend to many. His many accomplishments include his time serving as Assistant Commissioner at OMRDD, and his presidency at Normanside Country Club. Ed was an avid Siena Basketball fan and was proud of his time on Siena’s Freshman Basketball Team. To many, Ed was known for his subpar golf swing, but top-notch humor.
Ed was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Mary Ann (Ted), and his brother Jerry (Donna). Ed is a beloved father, husband, and grandfather. Ed is survived by his loving wife, Marymel; his children, Kelly (Roger), Edward (Jennifer), and Julie (Lawrence); his grandchildren, Heath, Alex, Eddie, Mackenzie, Alycia, and Conor; his loving sister, Alice; and his sister in-laws, Cay, Donna (Bad Billy). Ed is loved by his many nieces, nephews, and the Breakfast Club and Tuesday lunch group.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 18 at 10 am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Delmar. Relatives and friends are invited and may also visit with Ed’s family on Tuesday October 17 from 5-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home 490 Delaware Ave., Albany. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Delmar.
