MENANDS-Miriam L. (Henk) Dunkerley, 95, of Menands and Brooksville, FL. passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 in Florida.
Born and educated in Albany she was the daughter of William J. and Mary (Scharff) Henk. Miriam was a receptionist for the former Boardman Ltd. for many years. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Miriam enjoyed playing golf into her 90’s and was an avid card player.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Harry W. Dunkerley; her son, Peter Dunkerley; daughter-in-law, Linda Dunkerley; her companion William Callahan; five siblings, Kenneth Henk, Eleanor, Henk, Robert Henk, William Henk and Harriet Scoons. Survivors include her son, Paul R. (June) Dunkerley; two daughters, Janet I. (Chuck) Lawrence and Linda M. (Steve) Beaver; nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Miriam’s funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also visit with her family in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany on Friday, June 29, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in the family plot at St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery, Glenmont.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 75 Whitehall Rd., Albany, NY 12209.
