ALBANY- Nancy M. DiBlasi, 75, went to heaven on Monday, July 23, 2018.
Born in Albany she was the beloved daughter of the late Samuel and Elvera (Casatelli) DiBlasi. Nancy graduated from Vincentian Institute, 1960, and the College of St. Rose, 1964, majoring in history. She taught school in Albany, Long Island and finished her tenure in Harlem, where she was beloved by her students.
Nancy was a gentle soul and world traveler in the summer.She played piano, wrote prose, and collected videos of rock stars and classic movies. Nancy had a great sense of humor, and was a wonderful story teller.
Nancy was proud of her Roman Catholic faith and was an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion at St. Vincent de Paul Church.
Nancy was also a master painter who specialized in the ancients and loved to teach others how to paint, from 5 year olds to the aides at her final home where she donated two masterpieces she called the Greeks. In this way Nancy has passed herself on and will not be forgotten.
Nancy was a beautiful person inside and out and will be missed.
Nancy was predeceased by her brother, John and sister-in-law, JoAnn. Survivied by nephew, John S. DiBlasi (Melissa) and niece, Elyssa; great-aunt to Zachary, Athena and Gabriel. Dear cousin to Ernie (Linda) Anthony (Diane) and Frank (Regina) Papa who were more like her brothers and Jeanne and Gloria Casatelli who were like sisters. Also survived by many other cousins who were grateful for her grace, humor and generosity.
The family would like to thank Hospice (Jen) and the staff at the Joan Nicole Prince Home.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family Monday, August 6, from 4-7 p.m. in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. Her funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 7, at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home thence to St. Vincent de Paul Church, 900 Madison Ave., Albany where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
