Desforge, Robert W.

ALBANY- Robert W. DesForge, 72, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family after a long illness on April 10, 2022. Born and educated in Albany, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Harriet DesForge. Bob was a Veteran of the US Air Force during Vietnam. He worked for Atlas Copco in Voorheesville for many years.

Bob was a member of the American Legion. He loved spending time outdoors especially fishing, hunting, and golfing. He was also an avid bowler and enjoyed wood burning.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Shelley DesForge; daughters Stacey Agneta (Steve) and Renee Gallagher (Jeff); his loving grandchildren Kaitlyn and Steven, Avery and Alex; his siblings Paul (MaryEllen), Michael (Denise), Cindy (Conrad), William (Eileen) and Mary (Michael); also several nieces and nephews, brother and sisters in law; and many dear friends.



Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Bob’s family on Thursday, April 14, 2022 from 4-6 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Inurnment will take place Friday, April 15, at 10:30 am at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Albany VA Hospital, 113 Holland Ave., Albany, NY 12208.
