ALBANY- David Lawrence MacIntosh went home to be with his Lord April 10, 2024. Lovingly known as Papa by his grandchildren, Dave passed away peacefully in his home with his loving wife of 60 years by his side. The second youngest of five children, Dave was born to the late Earl and Margurite MacIntosh of Slingerlands NY on Sept 16, 1938. He spent his younger years farming, attending school and spending time outdoors with his dogs. He is survived by his sisters Beverly Lenox and Shirley Prahl. Pre deceased by brothers Earl Jr. and Harold C MacIntosh. As a young man he entered the Army Reserves and received an honorable discharge. Upon completion of service to his country, he worked as a roofer and sheet metal fabricator, eventually learning plumbing, which he chose as a career until his retirement. In1963 Dave married Gail Marcia Gray, daughter of the late James and Ethel Dascher Gray of Delmar NY. and were blessed with four children. There was not much he couldn’t do or build. He spent his time gardening, working with his sawmill making furniture and crafts. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors and spent much of his time in it. He is survived by his wife Gail, children Kelly, David and Tim, ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by son Todd David. The family would like to thank St. Peter’s Palliative Care Program and The Community Hospice. Memorial services will be held Wednesday April 17th, 11am at Unity Lutheran Church, where Dave was a member. 1500 Western Avenue, Albany NY.
