Cote, Josephine

ALBANY- Josephine M. Cote, passed away on June 20, 2021 after a long illness with her loving family by her side.

Born in Albany, Josephine was the cherished daughter of Italian immigrant parents Dominick Raponi and Maria “Mary” Reali. She grew up in what was then known as Albany’s Little Italy and graduated from Cathedral High School. Josephine also earned a certificate in accounting from Albany Business College in 1954. She worked for Manpower Temporary Services for over 20 years.

Josephine was the loving wife of Donald Cote who died in 2015. She is survived by her daughters Susan (Tom Burke) and Sandra (Joe Bertasso); her sister Lena Flannery as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Josephine was proud of her Italian American heritage and was known as an excellent cook and baker. She was especially known for her very tasty meatballs as well as her baked Alaska, chocolate chip coffee cake and anisette cookies.

Josephine’s family and friends meant everything to her. She loved traveling with her husband Donald, the love of her life, and vacationing with her daughters and their husbands.

The family would like to thank all of the caregivers and the staff at Shaker Place Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for their kindness and compassion.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family at The Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St. on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:45 am. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon. Interment will follow the Mass in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands
