ALBANY-William C. Cook, 87, died Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, after a brief illness. Born in Albany he was the son of the late Clifford and Elizabeth (Brady) Cook. He worked as an auditor for the Delaware and Hudson Railroad for over 40 years. Mr. Cook was a Communicant of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. He was an active member of Normanside Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf, was a past president, and past treasurer. In addition to golf he was an avid baseball fan, and a chocolate lover.

Mr. Cook was predeceased by his sister, Lois I. (Cook) Paley; his brother, Donald E. Cook; and lifelong companion, Rose Tacelly. Survivors include his nieces, Patricia Governor and Mary Jo (Daniel) Canniff; a nephew, Timothy (Barbara) Paley; grandnieces, Kathryn, Claire and Claudia Canniff and grandnephew, Robert Canniff.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, November 15, 2010 at Calvary Cemetery, 481 Route 9W, Glenmont. Relatives and friends are invited and are also welcome to meet at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Avenue, Albany on Monday beginning at 1:00 pm. The procession to Calvary Cemetery will leave from the funeral home at 1:40 pm. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Restoration Fund, 125 Eagle Street, Albany, NY 12202.
