Glenmont - Norine A. Cook, 83, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Born and educated in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Nora Cook. Norine worked in banking for over 40 years.
She is survived by her sister Margaret and brother Thomas Cook; niece Debbie Landauer; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and her beautiful orange cat Sir Pumpkin Pete.
Norine loved all animals but had a particular love for her cat Pumpkin Pete and all kinds of birds. She was pleased that there was a bird feeder placed outside her window at Schuyler Ridge where she was able to watch many kinds of birds enjoying their meals. The family was pleased to notice two cardinals on the night before Norine’s death. It has been said that a red cardinal can be a sign that you are being contacted by your angels, spirit guides or a loved one that has passed on. Many times, they show up precisely when we need spiritual comfort the most. Those who saw the cardinals wondered if Nora was calling Norine home with her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass Monday, October 31 at 10:00 am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Place, Delmar. Interment will follow the Mass in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any food pantry or the ASPCA P.O. Box 96929 Washington, DC 20090-6929.
