DELMAR – Regina M. Conway, 82, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Albany, Jean was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Freda Tierney. She was a graduate of St. James Institute and Academy of the Holy Names, and attended Mount Aloysius College in Pennsylvania.

Jean was a staff member in the New York State Assembly for 24 years. She enjoyed gardening at her beloved home in Delmar, and also treasured spending time at her second home, in Cleverdale on Lake George.

She loved children, flowers, dogs, and Stewart’s coffee ice cream. Jean had a refined and effortless sense of grace and beauty, and she exuded warmth, kindness and joy to everyone she encountered.

She is survived by her four children and their spouses Gerard Conway (Jill), Joseph Conway (Jane Fox-Conway), Michele Essex (Stephen), and James Conway (Kathleen); her siblings Joseph Tierney Jr. (late Carol), William Tierney (Karen) and Kathleen McDonnell (John); and her four grandchildren, Lucas and Zachary Essex, and Gerard III “Finn” and Annabel Conway. Jean treasured her grandchildren, and she took great joy in their achievements. She is also survived by many wonderful and loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her family wishes to extend their gratitude to the outstanding doctors and nurses at the Albany Medical Center CCU for the excellent care that they provided to Jean. The family is also deeply grateful for the support, warmth and compassion of Jean’s caregivers, Sherry "Bibi" Ramdihall and Colleen Avarzian, from the Home Instead agency.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family Monday April 3, 2023 from 9:00 to 10:30 am in the Chapel of St. Pius X Church, please use the Atrium entrance for the visitation. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am in the Church. Interment will follow the Mass in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
