MENANDS- Patricia Ruth “Patt” Console, 92, of Menands, entered into arms of her Lord Jesus on Sunday, June 26, 2022.

Patt was born to Edward and Margaret (Shepard) Lynch in Chicago, IL. Educated in Albany public schools, at 17, Patt left Philip Schuyler High School; a school she loved, to go to work to help support the family. Since she was an excellent student, the principal asked her mother if there was any way she could stay but unfortunately there was not.

Patt was not deterred and went on to receive her GED and attended Empire State College and SUNY Albany, finishing credits just short of an Associate Degree.

Patt worked for over 30 years at SUNY Systems Administration retiring as Administrative Assistant to the Director of Public Safety, in 1995. While at SUNY, she initiated the EAP (Employee Assistance Program) which assists employees with personal/work problems through counseling and referrals.

Patt was a writer and voracious reader, reading everything from Agatha Christie mysteries to Shakespeare. One of her writings, “Letters to a Mentor” was published in the Statewide Journal of Empire State College.

Patt was known for her keen, relevant and Irish wit. In high school, friends remembered her as being the best dancer they had ever seen.

Her total acceptance and love for others led her to spend hours offering encouragement and sage wisdom to those who were hurting. She had been active in AA, sponsoring and counseling other members with her gifts of listening and compassion. A woman whose generosity knew no bounds, shefreely gave her time and money referring to it as “ a mere bag of shells.”

Patt had an extraordinary mind. It was God’s gift to her, perhaps to compensate for all her physical aliments. Her mind was her strength along with her heart. As a born again Christian, Patt’s love of her Lord and prayer, sustained her through difficult times, especially the death of her youngest child, Julie. Beloved mother of Davida (Wayne) Goldman of Arcadia, FL, Timothy Console of Watervliet,and the late Julie Console whom she referred to as "my three jewels";sister of the late David and Edward Lynch; aunt of Joanne Petropol, Linda (Gary) Berner, Laura (Kevin) Lynch Krosky and Michael (Megan) Lynch; sister-in-law of Jeanne Lynch, Margy Lynch and the late Theresa Rossi and Joe Console. Patt is also survived by several precious grandnieces, grandnephews and her dear friends Rita Gabriel, Josie Roemer, Chrissy Saleh, Sharon Kowalski, Barbara Snay, Cindy Ryan, Perley Smith and Greg Senf.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 11am- 1pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. There will be a brief service at 1 pm with burial immediately following at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland. Those who wish may send flowers or make a
