DELMAR- Veronica V. “Bonnie” Considine, 90, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Lutheran Nursing Home. Born in Buffalo, she was the daughter of the late Barbara King and Joseph Zavodny. She attended the Mount Saint Joseph’s Academy. After graduating in 1937, she met and married her husband of 64 years, the late John L. Considine, in 1941 and relocated to Albany.

Mother of John (Diane) Considine of Bridgewater, N.J., Judith (John) Dearstyne of Delmar, Patricia (Dr. Suman) Wason of Basking Ridge N.J., and David (Tracey) Considine of Delmar; grandmother of Christine Considine (Robert Meier), Catherine Considine (Anthony Memoli), Sarah Dearstyne, Lisa (Alex) Sardo, Gian and Lauren Wason, David and Michael Considine; sister of Edward (Genevieve) Zavodny of Memphis, TN; sister-in-law of Gertrude Kelly of Lancaster, N.Y.; great grandmother of Jonathan and Juliana Memoli and Alexis Sardo. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers Joseph and Stephen Zavodny and her sisters Elizabeth Hales, Mary Mergenhagen, Anna Mayne, Irene Dieblod and Barbara Anchors.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Phillip Drew and the entire staff of the Good Samaritan Lutheran Nursing Home, especially the “A-wing” staff for their devoted care during her stay. Additionally, the family extends special thanks to Dr. Mary Ellen Drislane and her staff for their many years of care and support. Also special thanks to The Community Hospice for their care during her final days.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Veronica’s nephew, Father Paul Kelly, St. Paul’s Church, P.O. Box 356, Bloomingdale, NY 12913 for the support of his ministry to the poor.
