LOUDONVILLE- Grace T. (Scambelluri) Colbert, 96, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, June 08, 2023. Grace was born to Cosmo and Maria (Alvaro) Scambelluri in Albany’s South End. She was educated at St. John’s School where she played basketball, the trumpet, and where she met the love of her life Richard “Dick” Colbert at a Church dance, enjoying countless hours singing and dancing together. The happy couple won dance competitions especially the jitterbug and they even recorded a love song.

Grace lived the Gospel and her Catholic faith was immense. She spent her entire life nurturing and caring for others. Grace was devoted to her family and attended every activity, social gathering, sporting event, musical, or dance recital. “Nani Colbert” welcomed everyone into her family. She was a wonderful example of a loving mother raising her children and teaching the value of family first.

She was the beloved mother of Marguerite “Cookie” “Peggy” Roney (Paul), Diane Brown (George, Sr.), Mary Ann Frany (George, Jr.),Michael Colbert (Theresa), Donna McMullen (Bill), and Maureen O’Hagan (Joe), and the late Richard Colbert, Jr.; mother-in-law of Patti Oryell; grandmother of Paul, Michael, Stephen and Alicia Roney; Theresa, Michelle, Georgie, Cheryl and Rick Brown; Nicholas and Maria Colbert; Grace, Erin, George, Leigh, Christopher and Emily Frany; Leah and Alayna Colbert; Ashley, Will, Matt, Dan, Andrew, Michael and David McMullen; Joey, Ryan, Alivia and Lauren O’Hagan; also survived by many great-grand and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, husband and son, she was predeceased by her bothers Michael, Joseph, Anthony and Frank Scambelluri; and sisters Mary Ann Verni and Laura Rullo.

The family extends their gratitude to their extended family, many friends, Drs., nurses and staff at Albany Medical Center and Sunnyview Rehab for their love and compassionate care during her rehabilitation.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family on Thursday, June 15 from 4-7 pm in St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Rd. Loudonville. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 16 at 10:30 am in the Church. Interment will follow the Mass in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
