Coduti, Donato

ALBANY - Donato Coduti, 77, of Albany, passed away on January 11, 2021 at Albany Medical Center. Born and educated in Italy he was the son of the late Leonardo and Annunziata (Carusa) Coduti. He also served in the Italian Army where he was stationed in Switzerland.

Donato lived in England where he met and married his wife and where their children were born. He came to the United States in 1978 where he worked various jobs before working as a custodian for the Albany City School District for 21 years, retiring in 2009. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and friends.

Beloved husband of the late Antoinetta (DeLuise) Coduti; He is survived by his children Annunziata Maria Coduti, Leonardo Coduti and Maddalena Gillen; grandchildren Amanda (Anthony) Barber and Tiffany Gillen and great granddaughter Everleigh Barber;

He is predeceased by his siblings; Valentino, Giuseppina, Mafalda and Antoinette Coduti.

He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and Rachel (Andrew) Newberry Rachel and her son Anthony Rachel whom Donato treated like his own family.

Donato’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday January 14 at 11:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 391 Delaware Ave., Albany.

Interment will follow the Mass in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
