Cleary, Mary E.

SLINGERLANDS- Mary E. (Lawler) Cleary, 84, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, August 07, 2021 surrounded by her loving family after a long illness with Alzheimer’s Disease. Mary was born and educated in Albany, the daughter of the late Philip and Elizabeth (Coullahan) Lawler.

After graduating High School, Mary served two years in the US Navy as a Radiomen.She worked many years as a phone operator for NY Telephone and as an Administrative Assistant for Citi Bank.

Mary was predeceased by her son Ronald Cleary. She is survived by her loving husband Donald Cleary; children Linda (John) Winne, Lorraine Cleary and Kenneth Cleary; two grandsons Joel Cleary and Brett Winne (Kira); and two great-granddaughters Natalia and Melena Winne.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family on Wednesday August 11, from 4-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, August 12, at 10 am in St. Matthews Church, 25 Mountainview St., Voorheesville. Masks are required. Interment will follow the Mass in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 or to a favorite charity.
