Clark, Nathaniel “Nay”

d. April 23, 2021

Nathaniel "Nay" Clark 59, was born in Albany NY on October 23 1961 to Sallie F. (Eiland) Welch and Surrie Clark. After a brief illness he entered eternal rest on April 23, 2021.

Nathaniel "Nay"Clark was a fun-loving person who enjoyed cooking, cleaning and children. He attended Albany City Schools for his academic education and occasionally volunteered when he could. He spent most his time babysitting his nephews and nieces for his sister, nephew and niece.

He loved having children around him as he felt they needed love and care the most. Having been raised attending church and singing in the choir, his favorite past times were listening to Gospel music while cleaning and cooking. Atone time heeven played the organ at home while having church services where he sang favorite songs and hymns. He loved talk shows that kept him up on current events and watching Christian Worship Services on TV Broadcast such as T.D Jake's and Joel Olsteen.

He felt most comforted staying to himself as he did not like being around confusion, but rather he enjoyed the peace and sanctity of being byhimself, taking his vitamins and getting the things done he needed to do but also spending time with family during fun times. While these werethe most cherished moments to “Nay” as his family called him, over the years he also opened his doors and was hospitable to many. Allowing those needing a place to stay to stay with him until they could do better or get backon their feet. Often being taken advantaged of in the process, he still handled it with a smile and love.

Nathaniel will forever be loved and missed by his family and friends. He was predeceased by his Mother Sallie Frances (Eiland) Culpepper and Step-Dad Lee D. Culpepper; his biological Dad Benny Hampton and his Adopted Dad Surrie Clark and older brother Milton “Boo” Clark, and his Aunties, Willie Bee, Vera Louise, Pearl, and Cornelia, Uncles Moses Jr and Frank. He leaves to cherish his memory, his elder brother Willie L. Welch Jr.: his sister, Diane Clark and Lucinda Barnes of (Albany, NY) and younger brother James Earl Clark all of (Albany, NY). Nephews Dwayne (Yolanda) Bethune of (Troy, NY) and Jhamel J. Clark and Niece Naomi S.
