Chrysogelos, John

DELMAR- John Chrysogelos, 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital with his beloved wife at his side.

John was born in Albany and was the son of the late Nicholas and Florence (Romano) Chrysogelos. He was a graduate of Philip Schuyler High School class of 1952. John served as a corporal in the US Army and was a Past Commander of the Bucci-McTague American Legion Post #1530. John worked for L.B. Smith Equipment Company for 25 years and then owned and operated B-1 Equipment, Inc. and B-1 Lock-it both in Castleton, NY for 21 years.

John is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years Marion Ann (Criscone) Chrysogelos; his was the devoted father of Christina (Thomas) Myers of Delmar, John (Jeannine) Chrysogelos, Jr. of Somers, NY and Lisa (Michael) Lambert of Delmar; brother of Mary (Stephen) Markopolous of Schenectady; George (Ruth) Chrysogelos of Albany, Angelo (Patricia) Chrysogelos of Addison, ILL and Anthony (Mary Ann) Chrysogelos of Loudonville; brother-in-law of Diana (Bernard) LaRose of Schenectady and Eleanor Chrysogelos. He is also survived by several grandchildren, and step grand children and a great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews. John was pre-deceased by his brother Peter Chrysogelos.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 10am in St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 440 Whitehall Road, Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call Monday, April 5, 2010 from 4-8 pm at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc. 490 Delaware Ave., Albany. Members of the Bucci-McTague Post #1530 are requested to meet at the funeral home Monday at 5:30 pm. A Trisagion Service will be held Monday at 7:30 pm. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
