Charles David Riggs

GUILDERLAND — Charles David Riggs, 77, of Guilderland, passed away with loving family by his side at St. Peter’s Hospital Hospice Care Unit on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Dave was born in Troy and educated in Cohoes. The son of the late Charles and Ruth Riggs.

He was a bus driver with CDTA for 41 years.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter Tammy.

Dave is survived by his wife of 34 years Jean McGuire Riggs; his son David Riggs; brother Dennis Riggs (Wenxia) and his sister Diane Killian (the late Wally);  and his sister-in-laws Donna Tyler (John) Peggy Pinchuk (the late Mike); and Patty Hodgkinson (Seamus); also many nieces and nephews.

Dave enjoyed listening to music on his tablet and spending time with his wife and son. He always looked forward to traveling to Portland, Maine every year with his wife and close family friends, Tina and the late Pio Buonanno. He also enjoyed traveling to Florida to visit family.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 10 a.m. to noon at Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Inurnment will follow at Our Lady of Help Christians Cemetery, Glenmont.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all the nurses and doctors who took care of Dave over the years including the Albany Thoracic & Esophageal Surgery and all the staff at St. Peter’s Hospital.
