ALBANY – Patricia D. Murphy Cazasta, 89, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019 at her home.She was born in Albany and was the last surviving of twelve children to Francis P. Murphy and Kathleen McNamara Murphy.Mrs. Cazasta was the widow of Edward Cazasta who passed away in 1985. Later she was the loving companion for more than 20 years to Charles Magee who passed away in 2011.
Patricia spent her career in the insurance business. She earned her NYS Brokers License in 1975 and worked at David Williamson Insurance, Inc., until her retirement in 1993. She loved reading and doing her daily Sudoku puzzles.But, in her own words, what brought her the most joy in life was her children. She was a loving and devoted mother. She was also proud of her Irish heritage and was fortunate enough to be able to enjoy two amazing trips to Ireland.
Patricia was predeceased by her eleven siblings, Mary Prestianni, Francis Murphy, Elizabeth Chmielewski, Kathleen Cross-Ide, James Murphy, Thomas Murphy, Alicia Stuto, Richard Murphy, John Murphy, Ann McElroy and Joseph Murphy.She was also predeceased by her oldest grandchild, Richard A. LeBlanc, Jr.
She is survived by her five beloved children, Patricia Klein (William) of Delanson, Linda Mason of Albany, Jo Ann Gerber (Paul) of Delmar, Charles Buckley (Melissa) of Albany and William Buckley (Darlene) of Cohoes; also her grandchildren, Michael, Kelly, Christopher, Nicole, Tara, Jessica, Sean, Tyler, Mikey and Dylan as well as eight great-grandchildren; David, Chelsea, Daniela, Mya, Jaxson, Fallon, Mason and Reid; also many loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to those who helped take care of Patricia, especially Dr. Lev Barats and Community Hospice caregivers Kellie and Penny.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family on Sunday, January 20 from 2-5 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, January 21 at 10:00 am in The Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St. Interment will follow the Mass in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
