Casile, Dorothy

ALBANY-Dorothy (Christopher) Casile, 86, died Saturday, March 5, 2011, after a brief illness, in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born and educated in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Philomena (Paolone) Christopher. Dorothy worked for the New York State Department of Health for many years. She was a Communicant of the former St. James Church. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, traveling and loved cooking. She was devoted to her family and was very involved and supportive of all of her grandchildren’s various activities.

Wife of the late Ernest J. Casile, Sr.; beloved mother of Linda (Ronald) Martinelli of Guilderland and Ernest J. (Gloria) Casile, Jr. of Colonie; devoted grandmother of Sheri Lynn Martinelli, Nicholas R. (Stephanie) Martinelli, , Ernest J. Casile, III, Marc P. Casile, Matthew T. Casile and Maria E. Casile; loving great-grandmother of Brendon N. Martinelli; sister of the late Theresa Mazzeo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 9:45 am Thursday, March 10, 2011 from the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., thence to St. Francis of Assisi Parish, (formerly St. James Church), 391 Delaware Ave. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 from 4 to 8 pm. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
