ALBANY- Isabelle M. (Kelly) Carroll, 74, passed away peacefully at home March 9, 2018.
Missy was born in Albany on December 23, 1943, one of eight children of the late James and M. Isabelle (Crone) Kelly. In her youth she was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Parish and a graduate of Vincentian Institute and began working at National Commercial Bank & Trust, now known as Key Bank. Married to William Joseph Carroll of Albany on December 28, 1963 in Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto at VI, Missy devoted herself to family and the care of the couple’s children. As the children grew Missy attended Maria College and returned to the workforce and retired from the New York State Department of Labor in 2007. In retirement she and her husband enjoyed trips with friends to Ireland and Cape Cod. In private, Missy prayed for many, and was a longtime communicant of The Parish of Mater Christi.
Missy is survived by her husband William, and children Christine (Tim) Gordon, Brian (Kate) Carroll, Michele (Christopher) White, Scott (Christine Motta) Carroll, Timothy (Melissa Jones) Carroll, Maura (Brian) Harrison and Daniel Carroll. She is also survived by siblings James (Patricia) Kelly, Patricia (late Charles) Biggar, William (Ann) Kelly, John (late Carolyn) Kelly, and grandchildren Maggie, Luke, Sara, Connor, Jackson, Riley, and Wyatt Carroll, Sean, Reed, Kristin, Jeremy (Alicia) Gordon, and Hannah and Bailey White. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Missy was predeceased by her son William “Billy” as an infant; her twin brother James as a newborn; and sisters Bernadette Grogan and Janet (William) Kerr.
The family wants to thank all of the friends and family who supported Missy and the rest of us during these final days of her journey, in particular, Ann Kelly for all of her time, loving care, knowledge and support.
All are invited to visit with her family Tuesday, March 13 from 4-7 p.m. in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 14 at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home thence to The Parish of Mater Christi, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
