Calabrese, Eugene “Geno”

ALBANY- Eugene “Geno” Calabrese, 66, passed away peacefully surrounded by family April 30, 2022. Born in Albany, he was the son of Velma and the late Eugene Calabrese and graduated from Albany High School and SUNY Brockport. Gene began his career in Manhattan working in marketing for 11 years. He returned to Albany and worked as a foreclosure inspector with Albany County.

Gene loved animals, music, golf and cars. He quietly volunteered and supported many local Charites and organizations including Best Buddies, Boys’ and Girls club and the Albany Association for the Blind.

Gene was a devoted caregiver to his mother Velma; loving brother of Catherine Stack and Michael (Mia) Calabrese; uncle of Nicole (Nick) DeCelle, Darcy (Anthony) Battuello, Deanna (Steve) Wunsch, Giana, Mitchell and Sophia Calabrese; also survived by many grandnieces and nephew, cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law David Stack.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 13, at 12 noon in The Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St. Relatives and friends are invited and may visit with his family at the Church from 10:00 am -12 noon.
