DELMAR- Patricia Carroll Curry Burdick passed away on April 2, 2018. She was the daughter of Edward Peter Curry and Rosalie Marie Nally Curry.
After Pat’s father’s passing, she and her mother moved to Albany, NY. Pat graduated from Academy of the Holy Names and Marymount College (‘51) in Tarrytown, NY. After college, Pat worked at the Albany VA Hospital.
Pat and Frederick C. Burdick were married April 7, 1958. They have four children: Mary Patricia (Remmel), Peter Blake Burdick, Melissa Carroll (Tim Gilson) and Thomas Curry Burdick (Ann Hoch).
As Pat’s children got older, she worked substitute teaching for the Bethlehem School District, worked for 20 years as a medical secretary for Drs. Notis, Orris and Sax and was an election poll worker. Pat was a board member of Wolfert’s Roost Women’s Association, Hudson Valley Girl Scout Council and Albany Symphony’s Vanguard Association. Pat and Fred were members of the University Club of Albany and 48 year members of Wolfert’s Roost CC. Pat was a communicant of St Thomas the Apostle Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Pat enjoyed playing in several bridge groups throughout her life. She golfed, skied with her family and swam without getting her hair wet.
Pat and Fred were happily married for 60 years. They traveled extensively, summer vacations with relatives in Canada, visiting Mexico, the Caribbean, China, Russia, Turkey, Israel and 16 trips to Europe!
Pat’s greatest love were her grandchildren: John Harold, Emily Blake and Margaret (Maggie) Elizabeth Remmel; Jack Quinlan, Emma Curry and William Frederick Gilson; Ann Elizabeth and Amy Curry Burdick.
Family and friends may call at 9am Friday, April 13, 2018 in the gathering area at St Thomas the Apostle Church, Delmar. Her funeral Mass will follow at 10 am in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
St Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142 or Academy of the Holy Names, Albany NY.
