DELMAR- Grace Anne Brindisi, 88, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012. Born in Brooklyn, NY she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Brengard) Fillyo. She graduated from Newtown High School in Queens, where she first met Dr. Brindisi. She attended Hunter College and later completed her degree at Queens College. While at Hunter College she worked on the literary magazine and wrote to e.e.cummings her favorite poet, receiving an answer. She married Dr. Brindisi on January 6, 1946. She served as a Girl Scout Leader, and later substituted in the Northport School District. In retirement she served as a president of the St.Vincent DePaul Society, actively helping the poor in Suffolk County. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, traveling, sewing, creating seaweed collages, collecting quilts, decorating chocolate houses, camping, attending the Metropolitan Opera, and visiting Florida beaches. Mrs. Brindisi researched and completed a book on the life of her Alsatian relative Jean Batiste Foerhle, a Catholic Friar in Tanzania, Africa during the 1890
