Bolles, Mary F.

RENSSELAER – Mary Fedory Bolles.Mary was born January 22, 1943 in Schenectady New York. She was a graduate of Colonie High School and received both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Albany. In her early years she worked as an English teacher.

She married and had two daughters Julie Kathleen and Anna Marie. She later raised them as a single mother working as a legal secretary. She worked tirelessly to provide the best life and every opportunity for her girls.

Mary was a quiet servant in everything she did. By the world’s standards, her life was simple and perhaps unremarkable. But her impact on this world was anything but small. She was a PTA mother, an ESL tutor, visited shut ins, taught at an afterschool program, worked regularly at the Capital City Rescue mission, taught Bible studies through her church, mentored countless women, and supported orphaned children in India and Africa; just to name a few things.

Perhaps her greatest sacrifice though, was giving up her retirement years to come alongside her widowed daughter to raise two of her toddler grandchildren. When most people were settling into

the comfortable rewards of their post career years, Mary pulled up her bootstraps and began again to shape two more lives.

Mary never complained. Mary never gave up. Mary's body simply gave out before her fiery spirit and servant's heart.

Mary left this earth and walked into the arms of her savior Jesus on Sunday August 15, 2021 and heard "Well done, good and faithful servant."

She is survived by her daughters Julie Demers and Anna Denney, four granddaughters; Madeline, Julianna, Edith and Frances; and several cousins and extended family. She will be dearly missed but her impact never forgotten.

A celebration of her life will take place Saturday August 21, 2021 at Bethlehem Community Church 201 Elm Ave. in Delmar at 11am. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Mary’s name to the Capital City Rescue Mission 259 S. Pearl St. Albany NY 12202.
