GLENMONT- Antoinette (Annette) Beauchaine was born into eternal life on Friday, September 28, 2018.
She was born on September 10, 1925 in Albany to the late Charles and Margaret (Gerasia) Torre.
Upon graduating from Philip Schuyler High School she was employed as a Draftman for the NY Telephone Co. In 1969 she went to work for the Vital Records Unit in the NYS Dept. of Health, retiring in 2008.
Annette was a member of the Women’s’ Auxiliary of the Pat Aiezza Catholic War Veterans Post, the Destroyer Escort Historical Society, Auxiliary member of the USS DE 509 Formoe and Board member of the Community Council of NNORC, Jewish Family Services and Interfaith Alliance of NYS. Alongside her husband, Les, she was a very active volunteer of the USS Slater DE 766. Annette and Les were jointly awarded the Outstanding Volunteer Award by the Board of Trustees of the Destroyer Escort Historical Museum as well as the President’s Volunteer Service Award and individually, The Senior Issues Lifetime Achievement Award.
Annette was predeceased by her loving husband of 70 years, Les Beauchaine and is survived by her devoted children Leslie (Michael) Long and Craig (Nina) Beauchaine. She is loved and missed by her grandchildren, Melissa (Jason) Wolfgang, Matthew (Caitlin) Beauchaine and Michael P. Long. She is the cherished “Grandma Honey” to her great-grandchildren Austin, Nolan and Jason (JT) Wolfgang and Greyson, Gannon and Owen Beauchaine.
Annette is also survived by her loving sister, Mary (the late Thomas) Green and her sister-in-law, Theresa (the late Richard) Hazlett and her very close nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her much loved and missed younger sister, Francis Hollner.
Annette’s family would like to extend a special thanks and affection to her aide, Tina Bryant for her loving care and friendship.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 2, at 10:00 am in Christ the King Church, 20 Sumter Ave. Guilderland. Interment will 12;30 pm in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
Relatives and friends are invited and may also visit with Annette’s family Monday, October 1, from 4-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. Albany.The parish family of Christ the King will gather at the funeral home at 4:30 pm for a service of prayer and remembrance. All are welcome.
