ALBANY - Mary “Jane” Baker, 89, of Albany, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2020 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Mary Christiansen.

A lifelong Albany resident, she was a graduate of Bethlehem Central High School.After graduation, she worked for the New York Telephone Company. She then took time off to raise her family. After her children went to college, Jane worked for the Albany Boys Academy and Farm Family Insurance Co.Both she and her husband Daniel enjoyed their retirement years and spending winters in Hudson, FL where they made many friends she also enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles and watching her soap operas. She also enjoyed attending many Shriners affairs with her husband. She was also a Volunteer with the Red Cross, Member of the Red Hat Society, and also the Member of the Eastern Star.

She was predeceased by her husband Daniel J. Baker, Jr. who passed away in 2017. Jane is survived by her daughter Patricia Baker (Timothy Sweeney) and three other stepchildren; Susan, Kathleen and Daniel, whom she proudly took as her own when she married her husband on November 17, 1961.She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her sister Elizabeth Larken.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Monday January 13, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. Albany.

Burial will follow in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
