Bach, Mary Ellyn

ALBANY—Mary Ellyn Bach, 88, passed away January 2, 2019 after a long illness.Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Irene (Fitzgerald) Hurley. She graduated from St. Bridget’s School, Watervliet, CatholicCentral High School, Troy Class of ‘48, and Mildred Elley School, Albany, Class of ‘50. She worked for a number of years in the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance and later joined her husband in operating Lippman’s Pharmacy in Albany.She was a longtime communicant of The Parish of Mater Christi and an avid sports fan, especially of the New York Giants.

She was married for sixty-two years to her late husband Myron J. “Mike” Bach and is survived by her children Michael Bach (Ruth) and Kathleen Clark (Robert); her cherished granddaughter Erin Clark; her sister Janet (late Gus) Pelletier; her brother Thomas Hurley (Loren); her sister-in–law Mary Katherine Van Ullen - Allen and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Glendale Home for their outstanding care and compassion and also her friends and volunteers at the Parish of Mater Christi for always remembering Mary Ellyn.
