Avellino, Rose Mary

ALBANY- Rose Mary (Fuina) Avellino, 87, died Saturday. October 16, 2010 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Albany and a graduate of Albany High School she was the daughter of the late Rose and Vincent Fuina. Mrs. Avellino retired from the New York State Education Department in 1990. She was a devoted wife and mother. Mrs. Avellino was an excellent cook and was known for sharing many dishes, lovingly prepared, with family and friends. Her kindness, knowledge, wisdom and wonderful sense of humor will be greatly missed by anyone who had the pleasure of sharing her company.

Wife of the late Vincent James Avellino; beloved mother of Joseph (Barbara Avellino, James Daniel Avellino, Rosemary (the late John) Ragule, Vincent (Ava Charne) Avellino, Michael Avellino and Diane Avellino; cherished grandmother of John and Joseph Gregory Avellino, Michele Avellino, Carmela (Mark) McCarthy, John Jr. and Daniel (Jaclyn) Ragule, Tina, Robyn and Daniel Avellino; adoring great-grandmother of Danielle and Joseph Avellino, Teraysa, Angelina, Dean and Jake Ragule, Reilly and Ella McCarthy; special friend of Linda and Richard Schumaker and Judi Horton; sister of Emma Godell, Vincent Fuina and the late Daniel Fuina and Josephine Biondo. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 to 11 am prior to the service. Interment will be in Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Glenmont.
