ANTENUCCI, ROBERT C. SR.


ALBANY-Robert C. Antenucci, Sr., 84, died Friday, November 13, 2009 in St. Peter’s Hospital. Born in Manhattan he was the son of the late Charles A. and Amy (Stanton) Antenucci. He was raised and graduated from high school in Brooklyn, New York. Mr. Antenucci was a Navy Veteran of WWII having served with the submarine service aboard the USS Cod SS224. He was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for 30 years retiring in 1987. Mr. Antenucci was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, the VFW, the American Legion and the Wadsworth Lodge # 417 Free and Accepted Masons. He had a passion for carpentry and woodworking and maintained a woodshop where he completed many household refurbishing projects over the years.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Jeannette (Barber) Antenucci; his children Robert C. (Sue) Antenucci, Jr. of Newbern, NC, Marvin W. (Christine) Antenucci of Albany, Mark E. (Carolyn) Antenucci of Smyrna, GA and Katherine (Poppie) Anne Keck of Albany; grandchildren, Alyssa Antenucci, Anne-Marie DeRusso and Angelina Nichole DeRusso.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 10:00 am in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Monday, November 16, 2009 from 4-8 pm. Interment will be in Memory’s Garden Cemetery, Colonie, NY.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 57 Hurlbut St., Albany, NY 12209 would be appreciated.
