DELMAR – Glen Ann Aluise, 80, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was always filled with love and kindness to all she touched. Born in 1937, she was the daughter of the late Everlyn and Muriel (Rowe) Sniffen. She was married to Blaise Aluise for 59 loving years. Although she endured many painful surgeries over the last 20 years, always living with pain, she maintained a valiant spirit that inspired us all. She leaves behind her caring husband and devoted daughters Susan Aluise of Delmar and Jacqueline Mann of Kennsington, MD; and her grandchildren Jesse, Megan and Katie Mann.
She was first employed at NY Telephone Co, and later as office manager for Picotte Realty. Glen Ann enjoyed her many vacations to Florida and California, especially Carmel. She enjoyed betting on horses at Saratoga always coming out a winner. She took over the controls of our boat in Lake George and became “the skipper”. She enjoyed cooking especially a new recipe, and had the skills to prepare a regal dinner. Sundays she was lector at Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
The family wish to thank the dedicated staff at the Hospice Inn for their tireless devotion of caring.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family Friday, August 4, 2017 from 4-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, Inc., 490 Delaware Ave. Albany. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 8:45 am from the funeral home thence to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am. Interment will follow the Mass in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to The Community Hospice, Gift Processing Center, 310 So. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208 to benefit the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital.
