Allen, Lorraine G.

GLENMONT- Lorraine G. Mergenthaler Allen, 88, passed away February 17, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.

Born in Troy, NY she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mildred Renard Mergenthaler.

In 1957 Lorraine and her husband Wayne moved to Feura Bush and together they built their dream house. She worked as a Certified Nurses Aide at the Teresian House and later as a nanny for several prominent families in Albany.

Wife of the late Lloyd Wayne Allen, she is survived by her daughter Cynthia (John) Sawicki of Nassau and her son Glen (Jennifer) Allen of East Berne. Lorraine is the grandmother of Adam and John Jr. Sawicki and Amanda and Lori Allen. She is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, 2 step-grandchildren Peter and Tiffany and her sister Delores Reineman. Lorraine was predeceased by her brother Frank Mergenthaler, Jr.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of her family. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Lorraine’s name.
