GLENMONT- Gertrude “Trudy” Adair, 93 of Glenmont passed away peacefully on January 12, 2019 at the Bethlehem Commons at Good Samaritian Village in Bethlehem.
She was the daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Stang) Weisheit Sr. Trudy was a graduate of Albany High School and Pratt Institute in New York City. She began working at her parent’s grocery store and then at John G. Myers department store. She then spent 35 years at New York Telephone in a management position, from which she retired. She was a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit in Albany.
Trudy spent her entire adult life training, evaluating and showing dogs-initially German Shepherds and later Pomeranians. After she retired, Trudy became more involved with therapy dog work- taking her Poms; Jacki, Lori, Loni, Tedi and Jonas on visitations to Hospice, local hospitals and nursing homes. She was a longtime member of the Bay Colony Pomeranian Club. Trudy is survived by her newest companion “Sidney”.
She is predeceased by her husband Robert Adair and her brother William (Roberta) Weisheit Jr.
Trudy is survived by her four nephews William (Rose) Weisheit III, Richard (Karen) Weisheit, Douglas (Sharon) Weisheit and Ronald (Marie) Weisheit as well as seven great nieces and nephews, two great-great nephews and numerous cousins.
Funeral Services for Trudy will be celebrated on Saturday January 19, 2019 at 10:30 am at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave, Albany, NY
Burial will take place in the spring at Holy Spirit Lutheran Cemetery.
