DELMAR - On January 21, 2021, our family, church, town and society in general lost one of humanity’s greatest and most gifted treasurers. Virginia was a wife, mother, grandmother, registered nurse and child birth educator, poet, artist, gardener (master certified), certified arborist, landscaper, home designer, chef, baker and just about anything she wanted to be and she did it well. From church redesign (St. Thomas, Delmar) and church worship décor to home design of Schroon Lake house to several Bethlehem Town gardens, including the Veteran’s Park and her own home gardens, she gave her genius and the results improved her world, the town’s and everyone who came in contact.

Virginia leaves a house filled with unpublished poetry (like Emily Dickenson) and hundreds of paintings, many of which were awarded prize ribbons in area art shows. She leaves a husband of 57 years, William and four outstanding sons: William III (Jennifer), Stephen (Lisa-Ann), Adam (Elise) and Benjamin (Kristen). She also reluctantly leaves her beloved grandchildren: Stephanie, Stephen, Jr., William IV, Jack, Joseph, Lora Rose, Francesca, Jamie and Ryan.

Virginia’s quest was to push everyone to achieve all you needed to improve yourself and the world. She herself was most proud of straying away from home at age 3 in the woods of Tahawus, NY and going to school 30 miles away on a school bus with her older neighborhood friends.

She will question her creator on her design for three years of suffering with cancer but she gives back even in death with a green burial in Vale Cemetery, Schenectady, NY.

She was a treasure that will be missed by all. We are grateful to have known and loved her. God speed Virginia and thank you for your contributions to our lives.

The graveside services will be private with the family.

A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday January 23, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas the Apostle, 35 Adams Pl, Delmar. Masks, social distancing and contract tracing will be observed.
