Gould, Bertrand F.

ALBANY- Bertrand Francis Gould of Albany passed away on February 2, 2017 at the age of 81. He was born in Albany, NY in 1935. He was the son of the late Walter A. and Catherine F. Gould. Bert was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy, Siena College and Catholic University School of Law. Prior to completing his law degree he served his country in the Army as a Vietnamese interpreter. Bert for most of his law career served as Deputy Public Defender for Albany County and maintained a private practice as well.

Bert is survived by his loving children Mary ( Jack) Hayes, Anne ( Geoffrey) Wolfgang, Patricia ( David Pascarella), Michael (Evelyn), Geraldine, Theresa (James) Shear, Nancy (Steven) Novotny, Stephanie , Daniel (Pam) Gould and their mother, Marianne Gould, along with 21 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Walter D.(Barbara) Gould, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Jean Catherine Gould Roos.

Bert was an avid golfer who never perfected his game but enjoyed the time spent with his long time friends. He loved a good meal, crossword puzzles, stocking his kitchen, warm weather, gun collecting, Wille Nelson, and the occasional glass of Jack Daniels.

He enjoyed life long friendships with Paul Devane, Sr. and the late Joseph Hall.

The family wishes to thank the nursing staff of St Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their care and concern.

A calling hour will be held on Monday February 6, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church 391 Delaware Avenue Albany, NY with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m.
