Albany- David L. Florick, 82 of Albany, passed away on Saturday December 15, 2018 in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Long Island, NY, David was the son of the late Joseph T. and Nettie (Zorn) Florick.

David was a Tandem Tractor Trailer Operator for the N.Y.S Office of General Services in Albany, retiring in 1995 after 40 years of dedicated service. Upon his retirement he was a courier for the Lia Group. He was also a Volunteer Firefighter and current associate member of the East Farmingdale Fire Company.

Dennis A. Commerford

Guilderland- Dennis A. Commerford, 65, of Guilderland passed away peacefully on Sunday December 9, 2018 in the comfort of his home with his family by his side after a courageous battle for almost three years.

Born in Albany, he was the son of William and Eileen Commerford and was a graduate of Phillip Schuyler High School. Dennis worked for 30 years with the NYS Office of General Services.

Dennis was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who always generously provided and watched over his family and friends.He worked diligently for the State earning himself many promotions over the years.His favorite pastimes were hanging with his buddies on the Avenue and smoking cigars until he became a grandfather when his grandsons became the apples of his eye.He looked forward to greeting them at the bus before and after school.

His wife Jennifer, as he called her, “My some kind of wonderful” was his primary caretaker for almost three years diligently taking care of him at home.Mike Sprague, was his best friend who stood by him until the end

In addition to his wife Jenny, he is survived by his children Jodi, Dennis and his wife Liz, Jena and Jessica and was the proud grandfather to Stephen, Nicholas and Dennis. He is also survived by his brother Erin and his wife Stephanie and many nieces and nephews. Dennis is predeceased by his brother William.

The family would like to thank the all of the staff of Community Hospice for the outpouring of care, compassion and concern they gave towards Dennis and his family during his time with them.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 4-7 at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany NY 12209.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday December 15 at 9:30 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 391 Delaware Ave, Albany.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Community Hospice Foundation, 315 S. Manning Blvd, Albany NY 12208

Interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.

Reagan, Mary Q.

ALBANY- Mary Quinn Reagan died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 9, 2018. Born in Schenectady, on May 1, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Charles Patrick and Florence Devereaux Quinn. She was a 1947 graduate of Nott Terrace High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Oneonta in 1951. Mary was a second-grade teacher in the Schenectady public school system. Following her marriage to her best friend and sweetheart, Joseph Anthony Reagan in 1956, she and Joe settled in Albany, New York to raise their family. Mary was an active volunteer and dedicated herself to helping others. She and Joe volunteered tirelessly at the Center for Disabilities and for St. Catherine of Siena Parish (Mater Christi). She was a member of the Ladies of Charity and she was a Dame of the Order of Malta. Mary loved flowers and enjoyed her time with the Hugh Platt Garden Club of Schenectady and the Albany Garden Club. She was a dedicated volunteer at St. Catherine Center for Children and at the St. James Food Pantry. In her days as a young mother, Mary actively volunteered at the Albany Academy for Boys and the Academy of the Holy Names.

René A. Laurent

ALBANY-René A. Laurent, 96, passed away on Sunday December 9, 2018 at Albany County Residential Facility in Colonie. Born in Hull, Quebec Canada he was the son of the late Edgar and Alexina (Trudeau) Laurent. Mr. Laurent was a graduate of Albany High School. He served with US Navy Seebees during World War II. René was a Carpenter with the Carpenter’s Local #291. He later worked for Brickman and Associates in Albany, retiring in 1985. René enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid golfer.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie R. (Allen) Laurent; three daughters, Deborah Laurent of Gilboa, Michelle Cerone and her husband Joseph of Albany and Renee’ Laurent of Gilboa; three grandchildren, Jared and Renee’ Suitto and Whitney Crowningshield; a great-granddaughter, Izzabella Suitto. He was predeceased by his sister, Yvonne Deming.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday December 17, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 pm at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany, 12209.

A prayer service will be held at 6:00 pm at the funeral home at the conclusion of the visitation.

Inurnment will take place at the Saratoga National Cemetery privately at the convenience of the family.

COLONIE- Robert H. Hicks, 60, father ,son and brother died suddenly December 7, 2018 in Runnemede, NJ.

Robert was the son of the late Henry and Ann Davis Hicks.He is survived by his soul mate Karin Wells;along with their five children :Richard Wells, Brandy (Wells) Knichel , Robert Hicks, Jr., Thomas Hicks, Mandi Hicks and 8 grandchildren. Brother of Ann (Wayne) Davis, Alice (Steve) Kearsing, Henry Hicks, Deedee Kelly, Robert Hicks, Rocky (Beth) Hicks, Lisa (Mike) Kearsing, Sissy (Mark) Campbell and the late Earl Nicholson. many other loving nieces, nephews and relatives.

Christopher M. Doherty

ALBANY- Christopher Michael Doherty, first born son of Michael and Gloria came into the world late on June 27, 1965 and left early on December 1, 2018.

He is survived by his parents, sisters, Michele (David) Gerhard, Julie (Cliff) Nooney and Kelly (Bryan) Connor; brothers Patrick (Leeann) Doherty and Walter Piela whom he regarded as an “older brother”; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles..

Chris loved the outdoors, water, fishing and baseball. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He designed and installed beautiful landscapes and stone worksas the owner of Doherty Landscaping. Chris fought the good fight to the end. When he was diagnosed with heart failure he was given 16 months to live. He survived 4 years. Rest in Peace Chris we all love you.

Keith B. Gresens

ALBANY- Keith B. Gresens, passed away at home December 5, 2018. Born and educated in Albany, son of Shirley Gresens and the late Harold Gresens, Sr.

Keith worked as an excavation truck driver for Jake Burnett Excavation in Albany. He enjoyed hunting, bowling and darts.

In addition to his mother, Keith is survived by his wife Gilda Leone Gresens; his daughter Regina Gresens and son Keith K. Gresens; siblings John Gresens, Sherry (Matthew) Walsh, Harold Gresens, Jr. and Christine Gresens. Keith is also survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family Wednesday, December 12 from 4-7 pm in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 13, at 10:30 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Holy Spirit Lutheran Cemetery, Glenmont.

Slovak, Mary Angela Cudemo

ALBANY- Mary Angela Cudemo Slovak, 72 passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital.

Born in Albany in 1946 she was the daughter of the late Anthony J. and Dorothy M. (Theriault) Cudemo. Angie retired in 2008 from the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles after over 20 years of service. Angie was always kind-hearted and looked out for everyone. She truly cherished her time spent with her children, grandchildren, and pets.
